LOUMAN AND THE BIG WALK!
Of the record 446 teams of 4 who took on the physical and mental challenge that is Oxfam TRAILWALKER, 96% finished with at least one member still walking. 235 complete teams completed the event. Of the 1784 participants who set off from Hunters Hill on Friday morning, 82% crossed the line, with the last team ‘The Melbourne Slac’ (#154) triumphant at 08:45 Sunday morning.
On the morning of the event, Oxfam Australia announced that over $1.2M has been raised. $400K over last years total at the same point in time. Currently, the total sits a little over $1.382M but hoping to raise a cool $2M. Team Soft (#404) has raised $2,915.00 thus far and still receiving online donations.
For the record the Sunhing Cosmoboys (#290) from Hong Kong took line honors in a time of 12 hours and 37 minutes.
Team Soft (#404) came in equal 269 in a time of 29 hours and 58 minutes. 2 minutes under their predicted finishing time! Team Soft started Friday morning at 10am at Hunters Hill and finished at 3.58pm Saturday afternoon at Frenchs Forest. The team feels proud at completing the 100kms under the predicted time, and the money raised through generous donors!
Once again, Team Soft sends out their gratitude to the Support Crew that supported the team throughout the weekend for 30 hours plus.
